Paula was back to guest host some more What's Trending and the videos today covered quite a range.
First their was the Golden Globes to recap:
Then there was this very rare sighting of a drunk lady at a monster truck show:
Paula & Charlie's dear friends (and phenomenal talents) Tara Platt & Yuri Lowenthal celebrated 13 years of marriage by renewing their vows Bollywood style!
It was an amazing night filled with awesome people and they were thrilled to be there to cheer on their friends.
Beautiful Bride Tara Platt w/ Paula:
The lovely Casey McKinnon:
Charlie Bodin, Amazing Groom Yuri Lowenthal, Raya Yarbrough, Bear McCreary, & Deric Hughes
Paula, Dove Meir, America Young, & Carrie Keranen
And that's a wrap on Season 2 of The New Adventures of Peter & Wendy!
The season 1 cast was back at the original scene of the crime to (cozily) film in the last location for this storyline. Now begins the editing/post/marketing fun, but SOON we'll bring it to you : ) Stay tuned!
Paula LOVED her Modcloth looks:
May 2015 Rock. Well. (get it? hehehe)
The Darling family sent a holiday wish out to Wendy (ironically filmed at Paula's house):
Paula got to catch up with her new @NewPeterWendy castmate Meghan Camarena aka Strawburry17 before the holiday break! This gal is a power house and so full of amazing info and ideas. You'll be seeing LOTS of her in 2015!
Paula had a great time guest hosting the last ep of What's Trending for 2014!
She covered the Colbert Report's last (EPIC) episode:
Paula is super excited to be voicing another Monster High character! This time she's playing a new gal who'll make her debut in the new movie. Stay tuned for further CLAWSOME news on that front ; )
Holy cow!
Paula just heard (from her amazing cast mate & "Brudder" Justin Arnold ) that she's been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the film The Oher Kind in the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema in the UK!
This was her face when she found out #honored:
Weekend 2 of S2 filmig was a blast! The new cast members all wrapped out and there's just one more weekend of shooting to be done in January.
Paula had a fantastic time getting to work with one of her all-time favorites, Jim Beaver again. He plays George Darling, the patriarch of the Darling clan, and no one could do it better : ) Here he is with Brennan Murray as Brennan's character (Michael) gets ready to film a costume theater bit of Jim's character. The resemblance is uncanny hehehe:
FINALLY! Filming for season 2 began Dec 6th and the whole @NewPeterWendy team, including our amazing new cast members, can't wait to share it all with you :)
Here's a little social media BTS of Lovlee Carroll (Lily), Kyle Walters (Peter) & Paula (Wendy):
And a teasing one of Paula peeping at their super cute new cast mate (To Be Announced soon) who plays Smee:
Paula was honored to have had one of her articles from MsInTheBiz.com chosen to be included in the site's first book!
And that book is now available! Get yours here!
Amazing talents like Jane Espenson and Mena Suvari have given the book stellar reviews, it's off to such a great start! If you or anyone you know is following their dream of a career in the arts, this book is a must read.
It's the Year of the Pan!
With 3 films, one live televised musical, 2 tv shows & season 2 of The New Adventures of Peter & Wendy, prepare for a lot of pixie dust!
To do so, Entertainment Weekly ranked some of the people who've played peter pan over the years and the NPW team was BLOWN AWAY to not only be included, but to be ranked at #7! Go Kyle Walters! And Paula was the only Wendy mentioned in the article (*mega blush*) that says:
"Walters is a puppyish, pushing-30 Peter in this webseries, a modern reimagination told via vlog that transports the story's action to the fictional town of Neverland, Ohio. The actor, who doubles as the series' co-creator, is appealing as a manchild who somehow doesn't inspire eye-rolls—though Paula Rhodes' charming Wendy is the show's real draw."
Over the Thanksgiving break, Paula and Charlie went with her parents on a bucketlist trip to Ireland!
They flew into Dublin, rented a car, braved the narrow roads and different driving rules, and made a loop around the southern part of the island. It was gorgeous and they often had the place to themselves as it was off season.
They got to try their hand at falconry on an amazing Hawk Walk:
The Cliffs of Moher were WINDY:
And the Ring of Kerry was spectacular:
Definitely a trip of a lifetime!
Paula hosted the whole cast and some of the crew for a read through of the script - SO MUCH MAGIC IN ONE ROOM!
She's uber excited to film this season and bring it to you :)
With so many shows filming in and around ATL, Paula teamed up with The People Store to have representation out there. Her hubby, Charlie Bodin, was out there to film a recurring role on Hindsight for VH1, so she flew out to visit him, their agents, and their other pals working on shows there : )
They had a blast touristing around places like the Aquarium:
Meeting up with Charlie's fellow Insurgent castmate, Justice Leak who was shooting Powers :
And pal Charlie Halford who was out there killing it on Constantine:
Paula was pumped to be back at What's Trending this Thursday!
They covered the latest parody of the "10 hrs Walking in NYC as a Woman" viral video that has jaws wagging:
and the revalation on NPR (one of Paula's favorite things ever) that T-Pain can sing, sans AutoTune:
The T-Pain video obviously isn't very controversial, but MAN has the cat call video gotten the trolls out of the wood work. Oh well, views are views regardless, and it's hardly Paula's first encounter with trolls :)
So much fun stuff in the works, stay tuned!
(Ooo, and you may have seen her What's Trending segments featured at fill up stations - the internet is everywhere!)
Tonight was supposed to be when Paula's second ep of FX's The League aired, and it was a really fun scene, but unfortunately, a few days before, the very classy director/producer of the show wrote her to let her know that they'd had to rewrite some of the ep in light of the Rice events and that her very funny scene had been cut.
While bummed, Paula is touched that they gave her a heads up and looks forward to hopefully working with that amazing team in the future. Regardless, The League is a great show :)
In light of the whole #GamerGate hubub, NewMediaRockstars created a Draw My News ep to bring people up to speed and asked Paula to voice Princess Peach:
Paula was thrilled to be invited to guest host What's Trending today!
Here's the videos they covered:
Cat Circles
and Glowy Zoey 2.0
